Opera on Linux font-deuglification
If you’ve ever started a clean install of Opera 9.5, might concern earlier versions as well, you’ve probably noticed how ripped and crude fonts look on some pages (for instance google.com and youtube.com).

You fix this issue by typing opera:config in the address bar, search for Core X Fonts, and uncheck the setting. Restart Opera and you should see your fonts have been drawn smooth and nice.

If like me you mess around a bit too much with the font settings and your Opera then refuses to start up, crashing miserably with a segmentation fault. All you have to do is locate your opera6.ini file and make sure the settings for fonts match the following:
Enable Xft Fonts=1
Draw Anti Aliased Fonts=1
Enable Core X Fonts=0
I think that disabling both XFT fonts and Core X fonts does not please it, but I did not check if that was this particular combination.
